Cant wait to hit the links...

Lately I have been really wanting to GOLF! Yup, you read that right, golf. Christian is still golfing a lot every week. I would say on average at least 3 rounds a week plus some driving range visits too (especially when I am napping, he disappears!). Anyway, I haven't had too much to say about it since I know he is trying to get in as much golf time before Turtle arrives. He has mentioned that all he is going to want to do when she is here is hang with her....we'll see...I can't imagine golf being thrown out the window. Right now he is golfing a lot solo but he started golfing with a friend of mine from work and her boyfriend a month back. I would say all of us (excluding Christian) started playing or trying to play golf at the same time and before I stopped playing had similar handicaps. Well, not anymore! From what Christian says, Jen (which is a riot) will murder me on the course! so I have a lot of practicing to do. With these temps almost reaching 100 degrees I must say a cold corona and some golf sounds perfect! It also appears that since I have been on my 1 year hiatus from golf, all of my girl friends have really picked up golf too! This might seriously impact our girl trips to Palm Springs..lol. Well, only a few weeks left and I will be able to swing a club again (or at least try without running into my belly!).

Here are updated pictures almost 31 weeks! (I must say I look huge!).

me and my sexy pants! lol

Heat Wave....

Well I must say I have found myself praying for June gloom! 100 degree weather and carrying around a 20lb bowling ball is your stomach is not fun!
I have successfully raided my entire closet for clothes that cling just enough to not resemble a mumu, but also that have enough room to allow my skin to breathe! I have never been a small girl but my new found roundness is really starting to take a toll. I'm pretty sure I walk around at least 5 degrees warmer than everyone else. At least I have told myself that I do. lol

I must say a little bit of rain etc. will be more than welcome.

Grandpa George turns 90!

This past weekend Christian and I spent Saturday with Christians immediate family for his grandfathers 90th birthday. With all our families growing, I look forward to the next family picture. One of my sister in laws is pregnant also and will be delivering 4 months after me!
Anyway, growing up I never had a grandfather. Both my grandfathers past away when my parents were young so to have George in my life is something I am so grateful for. He is just amazing and is such an inspiration. Turtle will be his 11th great grandchild! She is going to be one lucky girl. She will be surrounded by both her grandfathers, her grandmothers, and her GREAT grandfather.
The time we have been able to enjoy with George is priceless. For the last several years we have been able to join the entire family at the Redwoods (northern California). We normally spend about 4 days out there and camp (I only made it in a tent 1 year...and that is not going to happen again!). We rent motor homes and enjoy the wilderness. I really love going each year, Grandpa George actually goes for like 3 months! It is so nice and peaceful up there so I don't blame him. This year however, Christan and I are not sure if we will be able to make it. We normally go in August and I think going camping with a 1 month old is a little to brave, even for me! If we decide not to go I sure will miss that special time we get to spend with George. But I know we'll be lucky enough to spend next year there, and all of this year enjoying all the jam George makes while he is up there. Can you say homemade blackberry jam. ummmm
Here are pictures of our clan...

Grandpa George and his cake!

The kids...make room guys, 2 more on their way! :)
The Ladies...Turtle will make it 7 girls to the 7 boys! Ha haa

My Angel!

How is it possible to love a someone that you have never met this much?? All I want is for her to be here and healthy. I can't believe she could be her in just 8 short weeks.

I know it sounds cheesy but I just can't stop seeing her in every baby the goes by. I smile at them as if I was smiling at her! I can't wait to hold her and laugh with her, and show her all the good things in this world and protect her from the worst of it. I get giddy when I see babies now. I guess a part of me always did, but now, I just want to take them out of their strollers and hold them. (and I have never wanted to do that, it has always intimidated me a little).

Anyway, below are the last ultrasound pictures taken some time ago (like 2-3 weeks). I carry them around with me in my wallet. I look at these pictures and am amazed how she has grown. I can only imagine what it will be like when she is here.

When I look at these pictures I see things in it that resemble more of Christians traits and some of mine. My dad thinks I'm nuts and that you can't tell, but I think you can. I guess only time will tell if I am right.

My future predictions:

She will have a round face with big cheeks (like me!), she doesn't really have a chin (another mommy and my side of the family trait), she has a little button nose (all daddy!), she seems to have large feet! hopefully that means she will be taller (again not given to her by mommy). I must sadly admit though that she appears to have my toes! Darn! See, I have what I call an E.T toe. My second toe is longer than my big toe. (almost resembling E.T). Anyway, if you look at the picture of her foot, that middle toe seems longer than her big toe! they say this is an indication that she will be intelligent. All I can say is....of course she will be the smartest baby in the world! Duh!!! lol

I just want to kiss her like a million times!

She is folded like a taco. Her legs are above her head.

The Cuties Beanie in the World!

A friend of my mom is starting to make these crocheted beanies and other little things...It's hard to get the exact idea of how cute these actually are but Turtle isn't here yet so I don't have a model! I actually stopped into Baby Boutique looking for a matching outfit for her baptism and the girl there told me to come in on Monday to talk to one of the buyers...if you girls are interested let me know (call, email, or leave a comment). She is making them in all kinds of colors and will even make them to order (color of beanie and flower etc). I haven't seen these anywhere either. I order a few for Turtle and she makes them in newborn and older sizes...just adorable!

Happy Anniversary!

Christian and I spent Sunday thru Tuesday celebrating our second wedding anniversary! I must say I love my husband. (I know, I am supposed too!) but he is just such an amazing person, I just feel like making sure everyone knows..he he he. Turtle and I are lucky to have him in our lives forever. We left mid Sunday afternoon and headed down to La Costa in Carlsbad. We have never stayed there but had heard from a friend of ours that it was really pretty. I am a total fan of Mission style architecture and La Costa has a Spanish's feel also (just like Marbella, where we got married). Christian got us a really nice room overlooking the North Course (yes we stayed at a Golf and Tennis resort! lol) and of course it had to have a bath tub! Here are some pictures of the resort.

The courtyard
The view from our Private Patio
The main pool and the some of the water slides
Our room

I must say we would come back to La Costa, with Turtle! The resort is super child friendly and has all kinds of stuff for a kid to do. Not so much an infant, but children would love it. They have an arcade, a mini Legoland on site, water slides...a beach style pool, and for the adults...a swim up bar. Anyway, it was perfect.
A romantic dinner for 2~ one of the nights, Christian and I went out for a nice dinner. . .

...before dinner this is what Christian was up too...I think Turtle will be the second child in this family! lol
One of the days we headed off to Sea World. Neither of us had gone in 2 decades and it was nothing like we remembered. Christian played photographer (he took like 200+ pictures!). Here are a few of the good ones...

Freezie the Polar Bear :)

Of course we had to go see the Turtles!

I have always had nightmares about killer whales! Yikes
I must say it was a perfect way to to celebrate our anniversary...I wonder what year 3 will bring...

3rd Trimester!

Today is officially the first day of my third and final trimester! I can't believe it. Some days I feel like I have been pregnant forever, other days it feels like it has flown by!

Anyway, today I went to my monthly doctors appointment and it was nice to check to make sure that my blood pressure and everything was still good. Everything checked out perfect, thank god. Honestly though, I was a more nervous to get weighed in today because it really feels like I have blown up over the last 5 weeks, so I didn't want to get on that scale! I told myself I was not going to look, but I failed. I gained another 5lbs since my last appointment 5 weeks ago (not so bad, I had prepared myself for some serious numbers). So far almost 7 months in I have gained 15 lbs...not so bad.

On Monday I have to check my blood sugar to make sure I have not developed gestational diabetes. Basically, they give you this fanta style orange drink (pure sugar) and see how your blood sugar reacts within 1 hour. So Monday we shall see.

I feel like over the last few days my belly has got so much bigger (which is making my boobs look smaller again! lol). I still get all kinds of comments about how big my belly is though :( And I most admit it just keeps getting bigger and bigger so whatevs. I'm still okay with working out a few times a week so forgive the outfit etc! I just got back from my walk.

Potluck...

Well today I held our first "mommy and me" pot luck. It was so much fun and really nice to get together with friends. I must admit it was odd to look out and see that everyone there had a baby with them. I guess I did too, but mine was still growing in my belly! lol Oh what a difference a year makes.

We have tried to come up with a way of getting together and this worked out perfect, good idea Jo. We each brought a snack, I made some Sangria and presto..a perfect pot luck..
Here is a picture of some blanket time...Hudson was sure the ladies man!

These babies are just amazing and so much fun. I must say I don't think I am quite ready for all the aspects of an infant, they still make me a little nervous. For ex. getting them out of a car seat, putting them down on the ground...yikes! in time I guess...

Starting from the top: Kaylee (almost 3 months), Jordon (4 1/2), Hudson (1 yr tomorrow), Elle (3 1/2), and Geneveve (3 months).

It's official!

I have now entered my 3rd trimester which could be the equivalent of feeling like poo! Last night my shoulder and hip kept going numb and I caught myself praying for the day that I could sleep on my stomach or back again! oh that will be the day, I really can't wait.

Things that are no longer easy:

1. Sleeping
2. Buckling heels or tying my shoes
3. Walking away from a bag of Choc Chip Cookies
4. Getting into the bath tub
5. Keeping my heart rate under 14o! while walking
6. Fitting into no maternity clothes! lol
7. Did I mention, sleeping!

Now, I am not complaining (well maybe a little) I love being pregnant and I even love the fact that Turtle will be here soon. I just want to hold her while I lay on my belly...lol

I have done the math like 5o0 times: If I have her at 37 weeks (full term) I will have her in 10 weeks! if I carry her to 40 weeks we have 3 months left! So anywhere from 70-90 days and Turtle will be with us.
