35 week doctor appointment

Yesterday I started my weekly appointments with my OB/GYN. It really does feel official now...she will be here soon! They took a Strep B test and I should have the results at my next appointment. Apparently it is common to test positive for Strep B but of course everyone would rather they didn't. Basically, if you test positive, you must be more cautious if your water breaks and must be administered antibiotics once your labor beginnings.

I have also gained another 4 pounds this month (it just doesn't get easier to see that scale move!), so now I am at a total of 20 lbs! I guess it could be worse considering I eat multiple choc chip cookies daily...I just can't help myself! I am still walking about 20 miles a week and will try to continue doing so, I have slowed down a lot though! what used to take me 1 hour is now taking 1.15min. My dogs have really loved mommy walking so much. They have both lost weight! lol

While she was getting the culture for the Strep B, my doctor also checked my cervix. I am happy to say that there is no cervical change. She said your "cervix is shut and long." I have been saying that I want to give birth at 37 weeks, but I think I'm gonna miss her rolling around in there...and my daily choc chip cookies! so if she wants to chill then (I'm reserving the right to take this back) she can hang out as long as she wants.

Christian and I have started our classes at Saddleback and have also started our birthing classes. We have completed baby CPR and safety (it was a little boring to be honest). Only 2 more classes to go...breastfeeding and baby care (basically all the stuff a normal women would know lol) mind you, I STILL have never changed a diaper! Anyway, the baby CPR class was a little repetitive but I know, god forbid, if we needed to use the CPR, the hands on training we received is all worth it! Our birthing classes have also gone well. We have a birthing coach that comes to the house on Friday's and we go through some information and practice our scripts. We have decided to use Hypnobirthing as our labor method and thus far I would highly recommend it. I know there are a lot of disbelievers...I can't tell you how many people tell me once I feel my first contraction I will head for the Epidural, but this method really does offer me more than all the others I have researched. I think it is also giving Christian a lot of strength he didn't know he had or even needed to help me get through this the way I want. He is a lot better at the hypnosis than I am. I come out of hypnosis within seconds of the suggestion...Christian, well lets just say I think he falls asleep??? lol Well enough about my birthing classes, I know most of you think I'm nuts! :) Still love ya...

Ill update some belly shots later today...I am official LARGE!

Baby Shower and 34 week belly shots

This past weekend, a few girlfriends got together and threw me a really cute baby shower. I had so much fun! It was soooo hot that it was a little hard to imagine hanging outside in the backyard, but the shade came in at the perfect time and gave us a little cover from the 101 degree weather we were experiencing. Jessica did an awesome job putting together some games (who doesn't love trying to figure out your weekly pregnant celebrities!). I must admit thought that the weather sure made it nice to have a cold margarita! Once again Turtle and I were showered with the most amazing gifts. Thank you to all those that have showed your support. It is so amazing to see all of us come together and celebrate such a miracle. Thank you all!

Here are some pictures of the day...(I missing a bunch of pics...:( )

Oh what a difference a few years make...

I found these pictures on my moms computer and thought how funny it was to see the difference between my bridal shower and baby shower...(i promise I'll update later today with some belly shots and my shower.)

Family Baby Shower!

This past weekend my mom threw a baby shower for me at my parents house. It was so beautiful! She didn't miss a detail, everything was perfect and I couldn't have been more excited to celebrate with our families. We ate (a lot!), played games (everyone guessed I was a LOT larger than I was when we played the "measure my belly game"...meanies...he he he), and Turtle was showered with gifts! All my family and my parents friends that have watched me grow up throughout the years were there and Christian's family and family friends were there too! Turtle is one blessed little girl...the love and support we received was magical. Thank you all for making this day so magnificent for the two of us!
Here are some pictures of the event.

New diet, new me!

I just wanted to update from my last post. I have changed around some of my food choices and walla, no more sickness. Basically I have learned the hard way that meat, chicken, fish, or anything heavy is out for the next few weeks. Not really sure why these food effect me so badly but for whatever reason if I eat them after 2 pm I am done for.

Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment and let all know, I am "A okay"

It has been a busy week, Ill update Monday with the happenings of this weekend....off to bed, I'm pooped!

Not feeling so good...

well I must say these last few days have been different than normal for me. On Thurs. night I started feeling morning sickness again (or something like it). I was unable to eat what I wanted and actually wasn't able to keep my dinner down. I spent all of Friday resting and trying to get my energy level back. By Friday night I was feeling a little better but still a little weak. Luckily, Sat came and I felt 100%. Yes! I thought it was an isolated event but here we are Sunday and I feel like crap!
I have read over and over again that with each week your organs have less and less room since the baby is growing so much which causes heartburn, indigestion, and shortness of breath (among other things). I don't thing what I am feeling is any of the above really which scares me a little because it is not time for her yet. Am I just being paranoid? is this normal?
I would say what I am feeling is really light headed, dizzy, full of gas, and like I could throw up at any moment! (sorry too much info). I really hope this doesn't continue or that at minimum it is nothing to worry about and just part of the final weeks of pregnancy. My plan is just to lay low again tonight and call the doctor in the morning...better safe than sorry. I have really been watching or checking her movement and she is moving well over 10 times per hour (she moves like 10 times per 20 minutes!). I would call sooner but I just had a doctors appointment on Thurs and everything was good. Weight, growth, blood pressure, etc all right where it needed to be....thoughts?

....I'm back. So I am not sure what is going on. I just ate a little something and I am feeling better. I made myself some mashed potatoes (my mom used to make them for me when I was sick, they really work wonders....lots of butter and salt and ummmm). After the potatoes I sat in bed and I am okay now. I want more potatoes but I am afraid to over due it, so I think I will be having mashed potatoes for lunch! My sickness almost comes in waves. I didn't make it on our walk today but I am still walking a lot which I think helps. Hopefully I will be able to sleep okay and get some of my energy up so tomorrow goes well. Anyway, just wanted to update everyone...I guess I have successfully hit the part of pregnancy where you are uncomfortable which is okay as long as she is healthy.
