Fundal Height

I totally forgot to mention one of the most interesting facts of today's appointment.

When she measured me she had to do it twice! First time around she measured me I was measuring at a 39! then she looked a little stumped so she measured me again and got 38. I guess all in all it is not that much off my other measurements but I think everyone expected me to even out at some point.

Dr. Appointment/37 week

We had an appointment today. We didn't see Dr. A but instead saw his nurse practitioner. She is really nice so I didn't mind at all.

She asked me if I was having contractions, and I told her yes, because I have. Now, they are not the contractions that knock the wind out of you, but they are also not just "standard" braxton hicks either. Well anyway, since I have had more than 4 in an hour (randomly and nothing that doesn't go away in time) she decided to do a cervical check and make sure my bag of water was not leaking.

Results:
Water is NOT leaking. (although she said if my water breaks she doesn't want me to wait at all to come in. I asked if I could at least take a shower or straighten my hair and she said unequivocally "NO"
Cervix: about 50-60% effaced
Dilation: 1.5 centimeters

Now, we all know that means nothing, but I must say you do get a sense of accomplishment when they tell you your body is preparing one way or another for the upcoming delivery~!

Until next week!

Dr. Appointment Update

So we got to see Dr. A today. He is such a nice man, and worth every minute of my 1.5 hr wait.
He did another ultrasound today (probably my last until 39 -40weeks). Baby is measuring great. A little over 7lbs already so he said 8.5 to 9lb baby is almost certain.

I like the idea of a bigger baby so this is a good thing. Belli was 8 lbs so that it not too far off. She nursed well, slept well, and was easier for me to carry...small babies are so intimidating.

I also told him that I have been cramping a lot at night (pretty painful, but no contractions with the pain). He said, well dear "it's because this baby is as low as it can be before just falling out" He did also say that my cervix still looked closed per the ultrasound. Dr. A is not a huge believer in checking effacement or dilation at this point since one can dilate to 10 or efface to 100% in hours.

Looks like I still have a few weeks left. At this point, its just mind over matter. It is getting harder everyday and I am getting more and more sensitive/emotional. I can almost handle the weight and pain, but the emotional part is really hard for me. I am not used to being this sensitive and everything lately is hurting my feelings.

Until next week...

Happy Daddy's Day

Belli has been slightly obsessed with cakes lately. (We call Elmo and Abby every night to make sure they are going to make it to her b'day party and on her cake with her "andles"). Anyway, so when I asked her what she wanted to make her daddy and her papa she said "cake!"

So here are her creations....only a parents/grand parents love allow you to look beyond all the stuff and still consider this cake edible. lol

My Gym

A few months back, Christian and I decided to try something different than music class with Belli. Although she enjoyed music class, she seemed to have lots of energy that she still needed to burn off. So, we started my gym!

This was the first time I have ever been to my gym with her, since she has started this has really been a Belli and Daddy event. It was really nice to be a bystander and watch her and her daddy really just do their thing.

Christian filled me in with all the little relationships and clicks that really go on and I was just amazed that it actually started that early. Well, needless to say, she loves my gym and for 2 for 1's during summer it is a perfect and inexpensive way to spend a few hours a week.

Tick Tock....Tick Tock

Baby is moving like crazy in my tummy, but the size of this munchkin (or not so munchkin) is starting to scare me a little.
I hear people say, the baby just rolls around in there....not my child! The baby is actively kung fu'ing my organs! I would not classify these feelings as "butterflies or kicks" the baby seriously has Nunchaks in there, it is absolutely crazy.

After about 2 hours of karate on my lungs and liver I started day dreaming about my delivery day still 30 days away. Umm.....it is wrong to just want to hold my baby...sleep on my stomach, drink a LARGE glass of wine, wear normal clothes without elastic waist bands? or should I just be happy that I am still walking around able to play with Belli, friends, etc.?

Need a second or third wind to get me through the next few weeks...if sometimes life could just have a fast forward button.

I did start prim rose oil today. I took them with Belli (don't think it really did much to my cervix, just helped my psyche) so I started them with this baby too.

I have another doctors appointment on Tuesday (not sure what he will do at this appointment) but hopefully we will get to see what is happening then or not?

35 weeks!

Almost there! I think.

We went to the doctors today and had normal measurements and things done. Fundal Height Measurement is still on the larger side, weight gain good (pretty sure my knees are about to buckle at any moment!), and blood pressure is good.

We go back next week for another "standard" visit. No cervical checks until 38 weeks! What!! I guess it really doesn't matter anyway, but it is nice to know that your body is at least preparing for labor. My old OB did cervical checks at 35-40 weeks. I had NOTHING happen with Belli until 38 weeks anyway but I am certain that something is going to happen sooner with this munchkin (or at least really really hoping!).

Oh well until next week...

Feeling inspired

Last few days have been filled with some serious self induced pity parties. My body is pretty tired and these last few weeks really feel like they are ticking by.

As I sat in front of my computer trying to figure out what else I can search about due dates, I decided to look at my pregnancy with Belli...from the beginning.

So I went back to 2007. God that was seriously a long time ago. Anyway, after reading all of my posts, many before I was even pregnant and still in the "trying" phase, I can't believe I lost sight of what we went through to have our little angel. Almost like I took getting pregnant naturally for granted.

I kept reading and reading, shocked at what I experienced the first time around. How positive I was, (until the last doctor's appointment, lol) and how grateful I was to even be where I am now. I even got to the day I delivered, months after her birth, laughed at videos of Isabella making her crazy baby noises.

So, now I am inspired. I can do this. I am so lucky to have this baby growing inside my belly. I want to apologize for complaining and whining day in and day out of my pains.

This baby can have as much time as it needs to grow and be healthy.

Positive thoughts!!

New Doctor!!!

We got to see our new doctor today! Christian and I couldn't be happy with our decision to jump ship and got see Dr. A. He is awesome. Just what we were looking for. He is a little odd and very spiritual, almost like he has the ability to heal. I know it sounds weird, but we waiting a long time and normally this makes me crazy, but the minute he walked in, I was instantly calm.

Anyway, the new office wants to see me weekly because for sometime now I have been measuring almost 2 weeks ahead of my weekly date. At all your OB appointments they check you fundal height measurement. This measurement normally coincides with how many weeks you are pregnant. Okay, enough of the lesson...most of you don't really care. Anyway, today I measured again at 36 weeks and I am only 34 week pregnant. Because of this, we were scheduled for an ultrasound to check the amount of water I was carrying and the overall size of this munchkin.

The results are in: This baby is HUGE! and my water is normal. Cervix is long and closed.
Although he didn't move my due date, he did say that if I carried to term I should expect a 9lb baby at the least. Ummm.....

Currently, the baby is weighing in a 6lbs and 13 oz. It is common for the baby to gain 1/2 lb each week going forward. If I carry to term this means I WILL have a 9 1/2 lb baby. This is a little crazy to imagine.

Maybe I should put away the newborn clothes and go for 0-3 months right off the start!

More to come next week!

She's got moves!

Our little dancer! Christians parents brought Belli a little Hawaiian outfit from the trip. Every morning we come down and she insists on putting on her "dress"

She is hilarious!
