Cops...

Well I never thought I'd be the one to call the cops when something bizarre happens, but I guess that is what I have become. Tonight, I was watching Law and Order (I watch a lot since nothing else on while I cook dinner) which probably didn't help me thing nothing of what happened. Anyway, Christian and I just finished dinner and he went up to shower. The door bell rang (around 8) and the dogs ran to the door barking (like they always do). I got up walked to the door and once I got there I heard the door click? I thought the magnet dropped in the stupid door but it was a little weird. I looked out the window on the side of the door and I saw a car (a white PT cruiser), once I saw the car, before opening the door, the car sped away. Random! I never opened the door but thought maybe someone just dropped something off, who knows. I told Christian about it and he thought it was a ding dong ditcher. Who ding dong ditches in a car these days??? He went outside like 10 minutes later (without his shirt on...) and the car was sitting in the middle of the street like 50 yards away from our house. Needless to say, when they saw my muscle man they sped away again :) It was all too weird for me. I spent the last 15 minutes making sure all the windows were locked, garage door secured, alarm on etc. Christian called the local sub station due to the nature of his work and reported the suspicious activity. The cops came out and said they would patrol around the neighborhood. I'm hoping it is just some random girl after our teenage neighbors doing a drive by. I have officially become a nervous nelly.

What am I going to do when she gets here? All I keep thinking about is how I plan on protecting her against the world! Why is there such scary people in this world?

Aggg....how am I going to sleep tonight?

25 weeks~ belly shots

finally here are the updated shots. I am getting huge but still have a lot of growing to do. I woke up this morning and my belly was a little more flat but then she moved and stuck her butt out and my belly got all big at the bottom! She is still in birthing position with her head facing down and her legs up towards my ribs.

The front shots look weird but I think it is hilarious...My waist is gone! and the lady bug is about to take over my entire stomach lol...I feel like I ate a basketball.

Turtles New Car Seat Cover

I am getting so excited to finally meet Turtle I just can't believe that she could be here in 90 days and be full term! WOW! I kinda feel like I have been pregnant forever but at the same time feel like I just found out.

This week we have a lot to do (okay, not really but I like to tell myself that!). I have purchased all her nursery furniture and should be able to post some pictures this week. Turtles "pap pap" is gonna come over on Sat and help me put the crib together. (he doesn't know it yet!, thanks dad!).

Sneak Peak into Turtles room

So before I left I have been working on feminizing Turtles room. The furniture is being delivered next week so once it is done I will post the final product....We are doing a jungle theme with animals, plants, and butterflies. more to come...

Christian's Babymoon

For Christmas I gave Christian a trip to Seattle to play this one course that he has been talking about for months! We decided to make this a last hurrah too since I will probably not be able to fly again before Turtle is born. We left EARLY Friday morning and arrived in Seattle at 9.30am. Christian had a tee time at 11 and I had a pregnancy massage scheduled for later that day (my first). All day I hung around the hotel and relaxed. My weekend consisted of walking (the hotel had a cool gym), sleeping, going to the spa, and eating! The hotel was in Tacoma (and there is NOTHING to do in Tacoma!). That night we went into Seattle to meet some friends and went to dinner. It was nice to see some old friends and spend time outside of the hotel. Seattle seems more like the place to stay. Next time, we will stay there (if I go back, sorry Mike! I might have to send Christian solo next time!) On Sat Christian golfed again and I went for a facial. It was relaxing but I must admit massages and facials during pregnancy verses prior to pregnancy are hardly as good. I think that the technicians are so afraid of being too rough and they aren't able to really get in there because of there is no resistance. You have to lay on your side or at a major incline. Anyway, it was better than nothing but I surely can't wait to have a massage and facial after Turtle is born. Either way, I am glad to be home! I was beginning to get some cabin fever so now that I am back it will be nice to have stuff to do, even if it consists of going to the grocery store! lol

Just some funny pictures!

So Christian and I were bored before we left and decided to take it out on poor Brooklyn! He is such a sport. Jersey was having none of it.

The year of the Rat!

Well, it appears Turtle will take after both her parents...and to be honest I am a little scared!
I am a horse (and it is right on! WOW) and Christian is a Dragon (will turtle end up with someone like her daddy???) anyway....check this site out to see if your sign is right...http://www.chiff.com/

Though the Western rat is reviled as little more than a bottom-dwelling disease carrier, this animal is viewed much differently in the East. The Eastern rat is revered for its quick wits and its ability to accrue and hold on to items of value; rats are considered a symbol of good luck and wealth in both China and Japan. Clever and quick-witted, the Rat of the Chinese Zodiac is utterly disarming to boot. Possessed of excellent taste, this Sign flaunts its style at every turn. Its natural charm and sharp, funny demeanor make it an appealing friend for almost anyone. The Rat likes to know who is on its side and will treat its most loyal friends with an extra measure of protection and generosity.
Behind that sweet smile, though, Rats are keen and unapologetic promoters of their own agendas. This Sign is motivated by its own interests, which often include money; greed can become a problem if the Rat isn't careful to keep its priorities straight. This Sign's natural powers of charm and persuasion can definitely come in handy! Although they are often hoarders, Rats can be very generous to those in their "pack," namely friends and family members who have proven their loyalty. Others might perceive them as quick-tempered and sharp-tongued, but never boorish. Verbal jousting is a great pleasure for the Rat, a Sign that everyone around will quickly learn either to love or to hate.
Rats enjoy being on the outside looking in, as the outside affords a view into the inner workings of a system or situation. The Rat's keen mind always seeks out new knowledge, to be stored away for future use. This ever-curious Sign also welcomes challenges as a way to stay sharp. If boredom sets in the Rat is no fun at all, but that isn't likely; this Sign knows how to keep itself entertained.
A valuable lesson for Rats is to learn to consider others above themselves, at least sometimes. If they can develop their sense of self and realize it leaves room for others in their life as well, Rats could find true happiness.
The most compatible match for a Rat is the Dragon or the Monkey.

Of course I looked up both signs....well if she hooks up with a Dragon there will be 8 years between them, so if Christian and I have anything to do with this, this matching wont happen until she is in her 30's! And the monkey, well that is 4 years which is acceptable, but not until her late 20's since she won't be dating until then! lol

Jenny's Bachlorette Luncheon!

With all the new babies and the new mommies to be, many of us were not going to be able to attend a girlfriends bachlorette party in Mexico. We decided that she could not go without at least one special luncheon with ALL the ladies, pregnancy or baby! So we got together and threw a cute little luncheon for Jenny this afternoon. I was in charge of decorations and it turned out pretty cute.
I must say the last time we were all together for champagne lunch at Bayside a few of us didn't make it to work on Monday lol. Today was all about Jenny though. We got her a cook book from William Sonoma and a homemade Newlywed Jenga game. After a few bottles of champagne went around we each wrote on a few Jenga pieces to keep Christian and Jenny busy... :) She read all the pieces as she put them away and she may actually come out a mommy to be and/or really wasted! lol Christian may end up vacuuming naked. he he he

Gotta to love my ladies!

Turtle loves her Grandpa!

Today my Dad came over with a few of his workers and started converting Turtles room from a reading room to a nursery! To start the walls in this room were peach. (not painted by me, a present from the old owners). I looked at those peach walls and just thought to myself "I need to do something with this" Also the closet was NOT baby friendly. There was one bar straight across the closet with one stationary self above it. My dad really went out of his way and re-did the closet to make Turtles clothes and stuff fit perfect. As you can see, she already has WAY TOO much stuff! I took a picture because I don't think people actually realize how much she has already. This little girl has clothes good through 2010! I have and will not be buying ANY clothes for her any time soon. All my girlfriends keep telling me that they will help me with practical gifts and as the attached photo show, I have the shopping down, it's the necessities I have no clue about. lol
I got a call from a girlfriend of mine today that has a 3 month old. It was really nice to hear some of her suggestions and recommendations. I guess most moms just learn from trial and error, but since Turtle is the last of like 10 babies born this year, I am lucky to be able to learn from them rather that purchasing, returning, etc. I actually have a list going on certain must haves and must do withouts!

Here are some pictures so far. The room is not even close to being done (I haven't even looked at furniture yet) and as of now it almost looks like a baby BOYS room. There are still some odds and ends that need to get done, my dad is not quite done with the chair rail. The colors I choose are a little masculine but I promise it will transform into a girls room by the time I am done (the theme I picked has lots of animals so the brown really works). I also wanted to stay away with any gender specific colors. Christian and I plan on adding to our family soon after Turtles birth (or at least that is the plan for now) so if this room needs to turn into a boys room then I just throw down some other accent color and bam, done. No need to repaint. Let's remember the necklace did say baby number 2 will be a boy. he he he

New paint, base boards, and chair rail.

3 new racks replace the 1 she had before!
Her new shelves and drawers!
All her clothes on hangers waiting for her new closet.
all these bins are filled with onesies! holy crap!
I have 6 bins. One with socks only!, one with shoes, and the others
are separated by age/size. OMG!

My first sober girls trip!

Big Bear 2008
This weekend a few girls and I went on our annual girls trip. This year instead of Vegas, Santa Barbara, San Diego, etc we decided to take it easy and go up to Big Bear for the weekend. There was 8 of us this weekend and for the first time most of all the girls where mothers or mothers to be! Nuts! Oh, how things change. Some of the girls hadn't even been highly intoxicated in a year (a few just had babies). I think that they were shocked that they stayed up past 9pm.
We arrived on Sat morning and I must say the house was amazing and the perfect family and get away home I have ever been too. One word description, impressive! I wasn't really worried about having fun because my girlfriends are hilarious but I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned that I would be left out a little (I mean, one of the purposes was to let loose and really drink the night away).
Let me be the first to say, you can still be pregnant and NORMAL! Before the trip, the girls and I went to the store and brought several different appetizer and our drinks of choice, mine of course was a Non-Alcoholic Beer. (Buckler?) Whatever it was called it was tasty! We played drinking games all night, a 4 hour game of caps!, it was perfect. And YES I played too. I even participated in a few waterfalls with my Buckler beer...lol. It was not bad at all. There was times I actually forgot I wasn't drinking and Turtle would kick me and remind me that there was something a little different about this girl trip for others past. So for any pregnant girl reading this that thinks you can't hang because you have are with child, shhhh! that's crap. You make your own destiny. Have fun!
I even impressed myself with my sober cap skills. I don't think that I was the only one shocked! As most of all my friends will tell you, I am for sure a second or even third draft pick when it comes to caps. When we were talking about what teams to create, neither team would even claim me. I think after all the ridicule, Turtle over hearing all her aunts bash on me, felt like she needed to remind me to show these girls that I am not as bad at caps as they remember! The entire time we played caps (like 4 hours!) she kicked me like crazy, and you know what, I wasn't bad at all! I guess that is one thing I for sure do better sober. Or maybe it was Turtle that will have the skills when she is born.
Anyway, it was a perfect weekend and it was nice to get away. I missed Christian more than I thought, it was a little weird to sleep solo and pregnant. Although it was nice to be away, it is always nice to be home.
Here are some pictures of our trip.
