Turtle loves her Grandpa!

Today my Dad came over with a few of his workers and started converting Turtles room from a reading room to a nursery! To start the walls in this room were peach. (not painted by me, a present from the old owners). I looked at those peach walls and just thought to myself "I need to do something with this" Also the closet was NOT baby friendly. There was one bar straight across the closet with one stationary self above it. My dad really went out of his way and re-did the closet to make Turtles clothes and stuff fit perfect. As you can see, she already has WAY TOO much stuff! I took a picture because I don't think people actually realize how much she has already. This little girl has clothes good through 2010! I have and will not be buying ANY clothes for her any time soon. All my girlfriends keep telling me that they will help me with practical gifts and as the attached photo show, I have the shopping down, it's the necessities I have no clue about. lol
I got a call from a girlfriend of mine today that has a 3 month old. It was really nice to hear some of her suggestions and recommendations. I guess most moms just learn from trial and error, but since Turtle is the last of like 10 babies born this year, I am lucky to be able to learn from them rather that purchasing, returning, etc. I actually have a list going on certain must haves and must do withouts!

Here are some pictures so far. The room is not even close to being done (I haven't even looked at furniture yet) and as of now it almost looks like a baby BOYS room. There are still some odds and ends that need to get done, my dad is not quite done with the chair rail. The colors I choose are a little masculine but I promise it will transform into a girls room by the time I am done (the theme I picked has lots of animals so the brown really works). I also wanted to stay away with any gender specific colors. Christian and I plan on adding to our family soon after Turtles birth (or at least that is the plan for now) so if this room needs to turn into a boys room then I just throw down some other accent color and bam, done. No need to repaint. Let's remember the necklace did say baby number 2 will be a boy. he he he

New paint, base boards, and chair rail.

3 new racks replace the 1 she had before!
Her new shelves and drawers!
All her clothes on hangers waiting for her new closet.
all these bins are filled with onesies! holy crap!
I have 6 bins. One with socks only!, one with shoes, and the others
are separated by age/size. OMG!
